Event Details

Leicester's First Ever Multifaith Dinner for Malaria, on World Malaria Day 25th April!

Organised by Young People across Leicester

In association with St Philip's Centre, Leicester Interfaith Youth Hub, Malaria No More,  and Faiths Act Fellows.

Join us for an evening of great food, drama, comedy and a guest speaker (Jo Yirrel, Malaria No More UK Special Ambassador)! This unique event has been organised by young people from across Leicester, from across the faith traditions, who have a passion to help those in need.

Malaria is Africa's biggest killer; with one million deaths a year; and most of these are pregnant mothers and young children. These are the voiceless in society; who aren't able to fight against malaria. Young people in Leicester are raising up their voices to say Malaria is preventable and treatable, and this is where you come in.

Every ticket purchased for Leicester's First Ever Multifaith Fundraising Dinner for Malaria will buy a bed net to go to Ghana, to protect an African family. These bed nets make a massive difference in reducing rates of malaria; and your ticket will buy and transport a net to where it is most needed. It will even educate an African family about its use!

Right now in Lilongwe, Malawi, young people are using drama to communicate the urgency of the fight against malaria. In Leicester, young people are hard at work on their own performances to entertain and inspire for this global cause.

For more information, contact Michael Tweed at the St Philip's Centre, on  0116 2738813, or at michael.tweed@faithsactfellows.org. If you have specific dietary requirements, we can accomodate you, please order a ticket, and then get in touch!
